Today, I have rebuilt all but one of the available plugins for exclusive use with Wolf CMS.

Considerations
The move itself was a fairly easy decision to make when thought out logically, but there were a number of factors which affected my decision.
As a provider of software, the most natural inclination is to aim for the biggest audience. Frog is well establised and has a very vocal and passionate following. I really owe a lot to the work of Phillipe Archambault and Martijn van der Kleijn who have done the bulk of the core development on it.
When Martijn first told me he was forking development to Wolf, I wasn't surprised. He'd been solely making a lot of the commits to the SVN trunks for a long time at that stage and had just returned from a trip to Japan which must have given him some perspective on his efforts and ultimately consider the future of Frogs direction (I hope I'm not speaking out of turn!).
I have always enjoyed talking with him about roadmaps and he has been very open to new suggestions, even if some of them are ultimately dismissed. My development path sometimes leads me into a niche and Martijn considers the benefits of the core. I think we work well together when this is the case and am very happy now fully supporting his efforts to maintain a lightweight CMS that has an extensive API to build the niche products from.
Development Cycles
Looking at the repository updates today, it is clear which CMS is moving forwards with the most pace. Frog hasn't seen an update since 15thJune 2009. Wolf was updated four days ago. Whilst the audience still lies with Frog, even if it is just the legacy crowd, I don't want to stand still, and the only way to move forward is with Wolf.
For a while I considered supporting both systems. But then I considered why I make the code open in the first place - to try and further my own development and the people around me. I don't feel like I'm able to push the Frog community forward from the sidelines anymore.
Switching Platforms
So all that in mind, today I started the migration across. Wolf lovers will be happy to know that all but one of the plugins are now fully compatiable. Frog lovers either need to hack the code back to Frog or switch platforms.
As always, you can visit the downloads page and get the updated plugins. All plugins have been updated today except for the Registered Users one. This will hopefully be updated this week, with a view to getting a stable version 1 out of the door at the same time. If you can hang fire on that, it will be worth the updated codebase.
I know there is some fragmented conversations going on around the net on this issue, but if you'd like to leave a comment, please do.
